The service is to be provided on late-night trains over the holiday season, beginning on Thursday.

"There have been problems with women being groped on the trains, and we felt this was a problem that should be dealt with," said a spokesman for Keio Electric Railway Company, which operates trains from central Tokyo to the capital's western suburbs.

"Given that the holiday season is especially crowded, we thought it would be a good time to test the idea of separate carriages," the spokesman said.

December is marked by "Forget-the-Year" parties - the Japanese equivalent of Christmas parties - and late-night trains are crammed with drunken, boisterous male commuters.

DANBURY, Conn. -- Santa Claus says a woman who sat on his lap was naughty, not nice.

A Santa at the Danbury Fair mall said the woman groped him. "The security officer at the mall said Santa Claus has been sexually assaulted," police Detective Lieutenant Thomas Michael said of the weekend complaint.

The 33-year-old woman from Danbury was charged with sexual assault and breach of peace. She was released on a promise to appear in court on January 3.

Police quickly found and identified her because the woman was described as being on crutches, said Captain Bob Myles.

A call seeking comment from the woman was answered by a recording Tuesday morning. A woman later called back and said: "It's a false report and I don't have any idea."

Police did not give the name of the disconcerted Santa, but they said he is 65 and felt badly because children were waiting to see him. "He was apparently shocked and embarrassed by the whole incident," Myles said.

Here’s a simple answer.

We're bunch of individuals working on an i.t field, and barhop is pretty norm during weekends.
